June 16 @Mitchell
On Monday June 16 Goderich travelled to Mitchell.  Early in the game the Seahawks played very well defensively, only allowing the opposition to cross the plate four times in the first four innings; unfortunately the bats for Goderich just didn't seem to be there as they found themselves trailing 4-1 through four innings.

Once the home team was able to have their bats in the fifth and sixth, they were able to put this game out of reach due to some good hitting and Goderich would wind up trailing 17-1 heading into their final at bat.  The Seahawks were able to bring two runs in during the final inning, but just couldn't seem to mount the offense that they are capable of.

Offensively this game Kellen had three singles and an rbi, Owen S had a double, single and a run, Mitchell had two singles and two runs scored, and Iain added in two singles.  Camron and John each had a single with an rbi and Kaelan, Zach and Owen D each had a single as well.

The team played very well in this game despite what the score shows, there were very good plays on the infield throughout the game and the outfield did a very good job keeping the ball in front of them, returning it to the infield and even came close to tracking down a couple of fly balls.  It was just the two big innings for Mitchell that hurt Goderich tonight and it had a lot to do with good hitting and not poor defense from Goderich.  The team made really good steps this game in showing the coaches and fans what they can do defensively, a little more hard work and they'll soon be shutting down even the best offensive teams anywhere around.  Add in some more hitting and this team will soon have things turned around on the score sheets too.  Great job tonight Seahawks, you played very well, keep those smiles on your faces!

GO SEAHAWKS!
