July 25 versus Mitchell 1
On Thursday July 25, Goderich Grey Seahawks hosted Mitchell 1. Goderich had a steady offensive pace to the game scoring in all but one inning, while Mitchell relied on one major inning where they were able to score the maximum seven runs. Heading into the home half of the final inning, Goderich was down two runs setting up the potential for an exciting finish...And exciting it was, Goderich was able to push across the two runs to tie the game and had runners on first and second with their lead-off hitter up and two out, however the defense was able to make a good play to end the game with a 9-9 tie.
The offense for our Seahawks came from Kieran with two doubles, a single and two runs, Graham with three singles, two runs and two rbi, Kaelan with three singles and two runs. Eric V had two doubles, two rbi and a run scored, Zach and Jamie each had two singles with an rbi. John had a single with two rbi, Michael had a single with a run and an rbi, Owen had a single with a run scored and Daerien added a single. Defensively there were some very impressive plays including a play where there was a runner thrown out at home and twice where Mitchell stranded the bases loaded to end the inning. Goderich is improving every game on their defense and continues to give their fans hard-fought games to watch and enjoy. Another great game against a very good Mitchell team. Keep up the hard work Seahawks.
