WOW - what a weekend of baseball to end the season!
The Seahawks played four games in the Year End Tournament and won them all to take the Championship on the consolation side.
Saturday brought two games against both Mitchell teams. Our boys came to play and tallied wins in each of these games. Strong defence highlighted the wins, Seahawks came close to a triple play as Joseph made a great play on a fly ball from shortstop tagging a runner then pitching it to 2nd. We saw some strong bats from Dustin, Jack L, Jack A, Jacob & Wolf! Big hustle from Jensen, arguably the fastest base runner in the league, stealing 6 bases in these two games!
Sunday started with an early game against Parkhill. The Seahawks showed up and handed the Parkhill team their first loss of the tournament with an 11-0 win. The stout Seahawk defence coupled with great pitching from both Ryan Dickson and Jack L to held them to a shut out win!
This took us to the Finals against Ilderton whom we played twice in the regular season tallying both a win and loss. In a marathon 3 hour game the boys came together. Our surprise bat came from Jayden Shanahan who smashed two doubles and drove in 4 runs. Sam and Remi both pitched superb holding the Ilderton team off as we finished the game with a 18-6 win.
The coaches are very proud of all the boys this team. The kids really came together finishing strong and showing how far they came over the course of the baseball season. The Seahawks proved they can play with any team in the league and came away with the gold. Nice job CHAMPS!!!
