Goderich Seahawks Major Rookie Black team travelled to Listowel to play in Baseball Day in Listowel on Saturday June 14. Coming into this game the team knew Listowel was a strong team and would give Goderich a tough battle. Goderich made some costly mistakes in the field that Listowel was able to take advantage of, throw in some very strong hitting and strong fielding and Listowel was able to control this game from start to finish. The Seahawks did make some good plays in the field and had many hard hit balls where Listowel made very good plays to keep Goderich from having many scoring opportunities. By the end of the game Goderich would see themselves being on the wrong side of a 36-4 score.
Offense for the Seahawks this game came from Iain with a hard hit triple, a single, a run and an rbi, Mitchell had two singles and a run scored, John added in two singles. Graham had a double with an rbi and a run scored, Kaelan had a single with a run. Kellen and Kael each had a single with an rbi. Aaron, Zach and Camron each added a single as well.
This was a tough game for Goderich, but the team never stopped playing hard the entire game and made their coaches and teammates proud. There were good plays made defensively and some hard hits at the plate. Keep smiling because you played hard Seahawks.
