July 23 vs St Mary's
After a busy weekend of baseball, Goderich hosted St. Mary's for their final meeting of five in the regular season.  With St. Mary's having won the first four meetings very early in the season, the Seahawks were pumped to show how much they've improved and show the home crowd a well played game of baseball.  They did not disappoint as they managed to play what many believed to be their best game of the season that ended with a nail-biting comeback attempt in the bottom of the final inning which gave this game a one run final score.

Goderich had a good first inning finding themselves trailing 4-3.  However, the next two innings they would wind up seeing the opposition plating nine more runs and holding the Seahawks scoreless leaving the score at 13-3 St Mary's...A very large deficit for the home team to find themselves just before the halfway point in the game.  In the fourth Goderich was able to narrow the gap to eight runs as they scored four more to St Mary's two, however St Mary's would add another in the fifth and held Goderich off the score sheet to hold a nine run lead at 16-7 through five.

With the Seahawks knowing their backs were against the wall heading into the final two innings, the defense came through with a three up three down sixth (helped out by the second line-drive double play of the game turned) and a four up, three down scoreless seventh.  The team showed what fundamental baseball is all about by making those plays and giving their offense the chance to do something special in this game.  Going into the bottom of the sixth, down nine runs the team was able to bring across two runs.  After the previously mentioned defensive top half of the seventh, Goderich found itself coming to bat trailing by seven.  With league rules stating a team can score a maximum of seven runs per inning, the home team was pumped at the opportunity to show the crowd what they can do and post a seven run inning to complete the ten run comeback and go home with a tie.  Goderich was able to put on an exciting show for the crowd to watch with 11 of the 12 Seahawks batters coming to the plate when the dust settled.  The offense showed exactly what true teamwork is by blasting a total of eight straight hits to start the inning.  In the end they would fall just short though, leaving the tying run on third base when the final out of the game was called.

This team displayed what they are capable of doing both offensively and defensively.  With some more hard work out on the field, they will definitely finish this season strong.  Take this game and build on it Seahawks, this is the kind of game that can really make things get rolling.  Take this momentum and show the other WOBA teams what it means to play Seahawks baseball!

The offense this game came from Graham who had three singles, a double, three rbi and two runs scored, Camron also had three singles, a double, two runs and two rbi.  John had three singles with two runs and an rbi, while Kaelan had three singles with a run and an rbi.  Iain added a single, a double, three rbi and a run scored.  Ty had two singles with two rbi and a run scored.  Owen S and Kellen each had two singles with two runs scored and Zach added two singles with an rbi.  Owen D chipped in a single with an rbi and a run scored, Aaron had a single with a run scored and Kael rounded things out with a single and an rbi.
