Peewee Surveyors Play Solid Defence Versus Exeter
The Culbert Surveying Peewee Girls fastball team played host to the Exeter Extreme on Monday, June 13 at Ag Park. Goderich played a strong game in the field, and, had a couple of big hits to improve to 2-1 in Huron Perth League action.

Payton S and Jordyn H were the starting battery for the Seahawks, and, definitely were prepared as they sailed through the first inning with ease. During a scoreless second, Megan K was plated by a triple by Katie R. The home side went up by 2 thanks to an RBI from Jamie A. The Extreme responded with a five run inning to take the lead. Goderich narrowed the gap in the third as Payton S was delivered home by Waltons' own Allison S. The Seahawks had a 1-2-3 fourth inning with some strong defensive play from Myea F at short stop. The Peewees exploded for five runs in the bottom half as Jamie A had a great opposite field hit immediately followed by a hard line drive RBI for Bella M.
In the bottom of the fifth, Grace T singled setting the stage for a mammoth Myea F 3 run homer to put Goderich ahead 12-5. This game was won with their defence, however, as Ava F made a fantastic tag out in a third base run down, and, Jaime N and Zoe M played superb at first base.
The Peewee Seahawks travel to Ingersoll on Wednesday, and, Lieury on Thursday before hooking up in a rematch in Exeter on Friday night in the Extremes Tournament.
