Culbert Peewees Dominate Skeeters
The U14 Peewee fastball team faced a tough test on Monday, June 20th at Ag Park versus the North Middlesex Skeeters.

Having just been doubled up by this same club down in Ailsa Craig less than a week ago, The Peewee Seahawks used solid defence, and, some awesome hitting to send the visitors packing with a 15-5 loss.
Payton S. gave the Surveyors a quality start on the mound taking advantage of some fantastic plays by her team mates to record the win. Myea F. pitched a strong final inning to preserve the work of starter Payton S. Allison S. made a highlight catch from behind the plate out in fair territory expertly snatching the pop up in what is one of the most difficult plays in fastball. Jaime N. and Zoe M. smothered everything thrown their way down at first, and, Emily H, Megan K, and, Myea F pretty much sealed up the left side of the Seahawk infield. At a critical point in the game, ACW's Bella M. was rewarded by the umpire for her incredible backhand effort on a ground ball at second base combined with a solid throw to force a bang bang play at first causing Coach Rhonda to say "Did you see that?"
Offensively, the locals were led by Jordyn H, Ava F, Grace T, and, Katie R who put a lot of pressure on the helpless Skeeter defence all game. The squeaky Seahawk player of the game award on this night went to their youngest player. Jamie A. pounded out two solid base hits earning a couple of RBI's, and, was an absolute force all game.
The Peewee Seahawks will be travelling to Sebringville on Thursday, June 23rd possibly missing 5 players from their line up. June call ups Marley F. and Janelle D. will be inserted into the line up from the U12 Squirt team, and, Coach Sherri is excited to see those two in action. Game time is 6:45 pm. If you're driving along highway 8, stop in and cheer on this exciting fastball team.
