with. There are no games and no travel in Rally Cap. Rally Cap is a skills
based program that runs 1 time per week for 8 weeks starting in early
June.

Similar to Rally Cap, it is a skills development program for girls who
want to play softball. It is an 8 week program, 1 time per week starting in
early June. No games, no travel.
Do you offer T-Ball?
No. Rally Cap replaced traditional T-Ball many years ago. Rally Cap is
designed to keep all players engaged with little idle time compared to T-Ball
which usually has a lot of waiting for young players.
When is the Season?
Our outdoor season typically starts with on field practices early May,
with games starting late May. End of year tournaments wrap up the season in
early to mid- August typically. This excludes Rally Cap and U9 girls fastball
programs which are learn to play baseball/fastball programs which typically
start early June and run for 8 weeks.
Describe your baseball program?
We offer baseball programs from U7 to U18 age groups for girls and boys.
Our teams play league games in the Western Ontario Baseball Association (WOBA).
All teams travel. Baseball is like what the Blue Jays play. (overhand
pitching, lead offs, longer base distances, etc). For those interested in more
competitive OBA (rep) level play, you can indicate your interest on the
registration form. At U7, a pitching machine is used by a coach. If the batter
has not hit the ball into play after 5 pitches, a tee is set out until the
player bats the ball in play. There are no strikeouts. At U9, a pitching
machine is used by a coach. After 5 pitches, if the batter has not hit the ball
into play, the batter strikes out. At U11, players start pitching to batters (no
more pitching machines). Stealing and other baseball elements are introduced
into the games.
Describe your Girls Softball program?
Softball uses a larger ball than baseball and the pitching is under hand
(ie. windmill) with shorter base distances than baseball. Our teams play in the
Huron-Perth Fastball League. We offer teams from U11 to U21 age groups. All
teams travel. Our girls fastball program has been quickly growing in popularity
for the past few seasons. We are hoping to field our first ever U15 team this
year.
How do I apply to be a Coach or Volunteer?
Coaches and helpers are key to minor sports. All teams require a head
coach. Please consider filling out the coach application or volunteering
through our coach application on our website. You can also contact our GMBA
coach mentor, Darren Scholl through our website contact information if you are
interested or have any questions regarding coaching.
How do I become a member of the Executive? If you are interested in joining the executive or finding out what it is
all about, please email [email protected]
It is vitally important for the future of our organization that add new
members to the executive for the long term health of the organization. GMBA has
strong registrations numbers and good financial health. The future of the
organization is really dependent on new executive members for the longer
term.
