Outdoor Season Starting Soon!
Hello Seahawks!   We are very excited to get our GMBA 2023 outdoor season underway!  GMBA registration numbers are at a record high, so our local diamonds will be very busy this summer for youth baseball and softball which is fantastic!   We anticipate getting on the diamonds the first week of May for most age groups (after the YMCA declares the diamonds playable).

The GMBA schedule will be available soon.  The YMCA diamond user meeting is April 13th and is occurring much latter this year than normal.  We cannot finalize our schedule until we have our diamond times confirmed by the YMCA. Canadian Tire store in Goderich has ball pants in stock.  Ball pants are the responsibility of the players to provide.  Like previous years, light grey baseball pants will be worn by our baseball teams and black coloured pants will be worn by our girls softball teams.  A big thanks to Shaun at Canadian Tire for making a large donation of baseballs to GMBA as well for this season. Equipment for parents to provide for your player – glove, batting gloves are optional, cleats are highly recommended, ball pants – light grey for baseball, black colour for girls softball are a must.  A batting helmet is highly recommended for your player as well for hygiene reasons, but there are some shared batting helmets in each team bag as well for those that prefer that option. Equipment supplied by GMBA – balls, bats, catching equipment, jersey, ball cap, face protection for pitchers where required by league rules. Volunteers – with the high number of players we have this year, that means we need more volunteers.  A reality of minor sports is if there is no coach and volunteers, there is no team.  Every team needs a head coach and assistant coaches, team managers, pitch counters, score keepers, etc.  If you want to volunteer or are asked to volunteer by your head coach please consider it. You will be hearing from your coach late April regarding first practice (except for U7/U9 girls softball and Rally Cap which start later May so expect to hear from your coach mid May for those teams). Looking forward to getting outside on the diamonds! Let’s get this 2023 ball season going and ‘Soar with the Seahawks in 23’ Thanks Jeff Squire GMBA President
