    2. Parents Code of Conduct

      1. I will follow the policies and procedures including but not limited to those as set out below

      by GMBA.

                a. GMBA will not tolerate any physical or verbal harassment, cyber bulling or assault of players, managers, coaches, officials, or spectators.


                b. GMBA expects any individual (coach, player or spectator) ejected from a game and/or practice to leave the entire premises before the game and/or practice will proceed.

      This will result in an immediate investigation by GMBA Executive.

      2. I will teach my son/daughter to accept loses with good sportsmanship and as an opportunity to improve.    


      3. I will teach my son/daughter that winning isn’t everything and to take each victory with humility and grace.

      4. I will ensure my son/daughter is on time for practices and games. 

      5. I will cheer for the team and my son/daughter in only positive ways from the stands.

      6. I will support and encourage all players as they develop and compete.

      7. I will be courteous and respectful to all parents on my son/daughters team, and the opposing team.

      8. I will share any safety concerns with the coach (i.e. unsafe playing environment/equipment).

      9. I will respect, be considerate of, and support the coaching staffs remembering all are volunteers and are committing a lot of their time.

      10. I will respect the umpiring and refrain from negative remarks in response to umpiring decisions.

      11. I will support my coach's decisions and employ the 24-hour rule when discussing any concerns with the coach.

      12. I will address unresolved concerns through the Head Coach, Team Manager then the GMBA President.

      GMBA Executive will enforce this Code of Conduct by appropriate means up to and including loss of privileges to attend any GMBA functions.

    3. Rowan’s Law:

      Under Rowan's Law, before any player can be registered with the local association and Baseball Ontario, the player, and the parent or legal guardian of the player if the player is under 18 years of age, must review one of the Concussion Education Resources provided by the Province of Ontario and must review the Player Code of Conduct.       Rowan's Law Acknowledgement:

      I hereby confirm that the player being registered to participate in baseball activities with the local association and Baseball Ontario, and the parent or legal guardian of the player being registered if the player is under 18 years of age, have reviewed one of the concussion education resources provided by the Province of Ontario as referenced above and have reviewed the player code of conduct as referenced above. I / we further acknowledge understanding the nature and risk of concussion and head injury to athletes, including the risks of continuing to play after a concussion or head injury is suspected.
    4. As parent/guardian I agree to allow the applicant named to participate in Goderich Minor Baseball Association (GMBA) with the knowledge that all players in the association will be covered under the Ontario Minor Baseball Association "Liability & Accident Coverage Policy".

      Equipment Requirements: All players are required to provide their own helmet, baseball pants/belt, glove, baseball shoes (no metal cleats allowed). Bantam and Midget players must have a wooden bat. GMBA provides all players with jersey and hat.
