Mosquito Grey, 2013 (Goderich Minor Baseball)

WOW - what a weekend of baseball to end the season! The Seahawks played four games in the Year End Tournament and won them all to take the Championship on the consolation side.

The Mosquito Grey came up a little short against a tough Lucan pitcher. It was a close one all game but we fell short 6-4 in the end. Great pitching performance from Jack Little who threw 2 shut out innings with 6 K's. Ryan Dickson came in and pitched very well himself adding another 5 K's. Great job! Our bats were a little silent early on but they came alive. Evan had a deep triple and Sam had a nice single and followed it up with a triple. Dustin, Jacob, Wolf, Ryan and Remi all added some nice hits of their own. Good work from everyone!

Mitchell came to town and the Mosquito Grey were ready to play ball. Although we had a slow start at the plate the boys quickly came around. Remi had the start and pitched almost 3 full innings. Sam came in and closed out the game overcoming a bases loaded situation and not allowing a run. Jayden had a nice base hit in the 2nd. Jack L recorded two doubles, Jacob had a double of his own and Evan smashed two deep home runs. All hits drove in some runs! Base running by Ryan, Wolf, Remi, Joe and Dustin rounded out a great winning effort. Lets keep it going Seahawks!

Following up on the big tournament win the Mosquito Grey went to Mitchell and picked up the first regular season win. A tremendous effort pitching from Jack Little. Lasting almost 3 full innings and tallying 7 K's and only allowing one run. Remi came in to close the game connecting with Joseph for the last out at 1st base. Evan and Sam had the active bats driving in lots of runs on some deep hit balls. Jacob, Ryan, Jack A and Jayden all contributed with some nice base running. Congrats Boys!!

What a great weekend of baseball for the Mosquito Grey team. We won 3 and dropped one close game to take the tournament Championship! Great pitching, batting and fielding by the entire team.  All the kids played really well - even gutting it out playing hurt. The coaches are very proud of the effort and everyone should be proud of themselves. Now lets take this momentum into the regular season. GO SEAHAWKS!!!
