Major Rookie Grey, 2014 (Goderich Minor Baseball)

Major rookie grey competed in Mitchell this weekend at our year end tournament.  We had a bit of slow start on Friday night against Mitchell 3 but finished the game strong however lost 20-15. On Saturday we played all real nail biter against St. Marys.  We fell short 8-7 in the final inning. We had a fun season and played very well all season.  Thanks for the great season Major rookie grey, I had a fun time coaching the team. Coach Jeff

Major Rookie Grey finished their regular season this week with a record of 6 wins, 8 losses. We had a very exciting regular season and the coaches are really proud of the players for the hard work and for being great teammates.   We look forward to having a fun year end tournament.

Over the last couple of weeks Major Rookie Grey has played 3 good games.  Strong wins against St. Mary's and Lieury and a tight game against Grand Bend last Friday night.  We went into the bottom of the 5th with a 1 run lead, but Grand Bend scored 3 runs on good hitting to take the win in their last at bat. As we head into our last 4 games of the season, let's continue giving it our best every game Seahawks and of course have lots of fun playing baseball at the same time. Its great to see every players skills improving every game.

Our most exciting game of the season with some big hits all around!  I guess that extra BP at practice worked. Owen caught a spectacular line drive at 1st base and doubled up the runner to end the top of the 5th and keep Mitchell scoreless in the 5th.  We entered the bottom of the 5th down a run.  A lead off hit by Caeleb in the bottom of the 5th, followed by another solid hit from Jack and another hit from Denver, set the plate for a RBI ..single to left field by Jacob D to tie the game.  Owen stepped up with the bases loaded and hit a huge triple to left centre field! Excellent game ...

Major Rookie Grey had an exciting 16 to 12 win over Grand Bend at Ag Park last night.  Smart base running and some excellent ground ball fielding were key to the game.  Great work Seahawks!
