July 17 @ Mitchell 1
On Wednesday July 17, Goderich Grey Seahawks travelled to Mitchell. The Seahawks played one of their best all around games of the year and held onto a 9-7 lead going into the bottom of the fifth with Mitchell about to take their final bat. In the final inning of play Mitchell was able to come alive and bring five runs across the plate to execute a comeback to win the game 12-9 and hand Goderich yet another tough loss.
The offense for our Seahawks came from Michael with a double, two singles, an rbi and a run scored, Eric M with three singles and three runs, Eric V with three singles, a run and an rbi. Kieran had a double, a single, two rbi and a run, while John was able to pick up two singles with two rbi and a run. Jamie and Graham each added a single with an rbi and a run, and Owen added a single with an rbi. The Seahawks made a few key plays throughout the game, including some very good play up the middle with a few of the shortstop and secondbase combinations. Goderich played one of their best games of the season against a very strong Mitchell team, well done Seahawks, keep it up!
