July 18 versus Parkhill
On Thursday July 18, Goderich Grey Seahawks hosted Parkhill. For the second straight game the Seahawks played one of their best all around games of the year against a very strong opponent. In the final inning of play Parkhill was able to add two runs to add to their lead and make it a four run game going into the bottom of the inning. Down four runs, Goderich came to the plate with their bats swinging furiously and hit numerous doubles and singles to bring five runs across the plate to complete a very exciting comeback for the home crowd to witness a 12-11 Goderich win.
The offense for our Seahawks came from Eric M with two doubles, a single, three rbi and two runs scored, Kieran with two doubles, a single, two runs and two rbi, Michael with a double, two singles, a run and an rbi, Eric V had three singles, two runs, including the game winning run and an rbi. John had a double, a single, a run and the game tying rbi. Daerien had two singles with a run, Owen also had two singles with a run and an rbi. Graham added a very timely hard hit double down the first base line in the last inning for an rbi and was able to score the tying run. Zach had a single with an rbi and a run and Jamie sealed the win off with the game winning rbi. With the season winding down, the Seahawks have now established their positions on the field and put on a very good display of defense for the home town crowd and coaches to enjoy. The team was very loud and enthusiastic on the bench from beginning to end and that helped propel them to the hard fought and much deserved victory. Keep working hard and having fun Greyhawks!
