July 29 @ Exeter
On Monday July 29, Goderich Grey Seahawks travelled to Exeter.  Goderich had a steady offensive pace to the game scoring in all but one inning, while Exeter was able to capitalize on a very shaky first inning defensively for Goderich where they were able to score the maximum seven runs.  Goderich stepped their defense up in the final four inning of the game and were able to hold Exeter to only one more run thanks to some very incredible plays including a double play turned by the shortstop to first.  Heading into the final inning, Goderich found themselves down three runs.

In the fifth and final inning they were able to bring in the four runs that were needed to take the lead heading into the bottom half of the last inning.  Goderich was able to stop Exeter from scoring in their final at bat and head home with a very impressive 9-8 win. The offense for our Seahawks came from Eric M with two doubles, a single, an rbi and a run, Eric V with three singles and two runs, Jamie with three singles, two rbi and a run, Kaelan with three singles and two runs.  Kieran had a triple, a single, an rbi and a run, John had two singles, two rbi and a run, and Daerien had two singles with two rbi.  Michael added a single with an rbi and a run, and Millar rounded out the offense with a single and an rbi.  Goderich should be very proud of themselves for pulling out another comeback victory against one of the best and most potent offensive teams in  the league.  Exeter has scored 57 more runs than they have allowed this year and have been easily defeating their opponents...Goderich held them to one run over the final four innings of the game, very, very impressive defense was put on.  This is a very impressive victory for Goderich to end their season with riding into the WOBA Championship.  Keep up the hard work Seahawks.

GO SEAHAWKS!!
