Culbert Peewee Girls Pound Out 17 Hits In St. Mary's
On June 30th, the U14 peewee girls were in St. Mary's to face a squad that had been playing well, and, sat tied for second with the locals in the Huron Perth Fastball League standings.
The Surveyors made the trip to Teddy's Field missing four of their regulars from the line up, but, the addition of U12 call up Marley F proved to be a great decision as she took full advantage of her opportunity in going 3 for 3 at the plate.
Myea F drew the start on the hill for Goderich, and, battled hard all evening to pick up the 13-12 victory. Payton S came on in relief to hold off a St. Mary's rally in the final inning, and, was aided by some outstanding left side defence displayed by Megan K and Ava F in forcing out 2 runners at third base.
The big story on this night was the Seahawk offence which pounded out a 17 hit attack including two monstrous home runs by Jaime N who went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's on the evening. Jamie A did a wonderful job in the lead off spot providing a pair of hits, and, her usual intelligent base running. Allison S and Ava F really hit the ball well collecting a pair of hits each. Zoe M and Bella M, not to be outdone, provided a pair of hits contributing 3 RBI's toward a total team effort.
