Major Rookie Black, 2014 (Goderich Minor Baseball)

Tuesday July 29 Goderich travelled to Listowel to take on what is widely considered the best team in the league.  Coming off an undefeated, Championship winning weekend at the John O'Keefe Memorial Tournament in Goderich, Listowel was on a roll and looking to notch two more wins versus Goderich to wrap up first place in the league.  Little did they realize, the Seahawks were pumped with adrenaline from their third place win on the weekend and ready to show Listowel that Goderich should also be considered one of the top teams in this league and can compete with anyone who steps onto the field ...

During the weekend of July 26 and 27 Goderich Major Rookie Black hosted and played in the John O'Keefe Memorial Tournament.  The tournament included five Major Rookie Tier One teams and the competition was very strong throughout the entire weekend.  Coming into this tournament the players had their minds set on turning their season around and doing something special.

Wednesday evening Goderich Seahawks travelled to Mitchell to take on a very hot team that is mounting a large winning streak right now.  Goderich ran into some top notch defense and well placed hitting to leave them heading home on the losing end of a large deficit.

After a busy weekend of baseball, Goderich hosted St. Mary's for their final meeting of five in the regular season.  With St. Mary's having won the first four meetings very early in the season, the Seahawks were pumped to show how much they've improved and show the home crowd a well played game of baseball.  They did not disappoint as they managed to play what many believed to be their best game of the season that ended with a nail-biting comeback attempt in the bottom of the final inning which gave this game a one run final score.

The Major Rookie Black Seahawks had a busy weekend after a month long absence from the field due to weather/field conditions.
